Adventure Guide: Fun ways to spend your weekend in the Treasure Valley

Idaho's Largest Garage Sale 2019 is going on Saturday from 7 a.m. to 6 p.m. Head to Expo Idaho to kick off the yard sale season at this event that gives you the chance to buy gently used items. Dave Hester from Storage Wars will be in attendance and available for photographs. There will also be food vendors and a kid’s play area to utilize while you shop.

More shopping to do this weekend, this time at Capital City Public Market. From 9 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. you can head to West Main Street to enjoy multiple local vendors. The market is open in downtown Boise every Saturday through the end of October.

All weekend at the CenturyLink Arena, you can enjoy the Treasure Valley Tattoo Convention. The event includes tattoo’s, vendors, motorcycles, food and drinks. It features local artists, as well as artists from across the country who you can meet and get tattoos from.

It's hiking season and you can make sure your dog stays safe by taking Saturday's class at Julia Davis Park. Boise Rattlesnake/Porcupine/Skunk Avoidance Training for Dogs Workshop starts at 9 a.m. The event includes fresh scents, as well as live, non-poisonous gopher snakes that your pet can learn to avoid via the use of shock collars.

You can bike for a good cause Saturday at 8 a.m. The Cycle for Independence Fundraiser is put on by the Treasure Valley Chapter of the National Federation of the blind. You can choose between 10 mile, 25 mile or metric century rides. Each course includes bike mechanics, medical personal and water stops. After the ride, you can enjoy burgers, music and prizes.

This event is specifically for you and your family. Canyon County Early Steam Day runs from 11 a.m. 3 p.m. Saturday at Indian Creek Plaza. You and your family can enjoy a day of exploration and creativity, making slime, planting seeds and trying tech toys. The hands-on activities are geared towards children ages 0 to 8.
