A stark-featured actor with a naturally rough-cut appearance, film and television performer Nick Sandow parlayed his looks into a successful career as a character player with roles on both sides of the law; he was cast as thugs, cops, detectives, gangsters, and various other toughs. Sandow scored some of his earliest assignments in the early to mid-'90s with guest bits on television series, including Law & Order and Due South, but by the end of that decade began signing for supporting roles in low- to medium-budgeted independent films including Grind (1996), Arresting Gena (1997), and Uninvited (1999). Prime-time television aficionados may also remember Sandow for his portrayal of Joseph "Joe" Lombardo III in season two of the NBC action drama series Third Watch (2000); he also played famed gangster-turned-mob informant Henry Hill (inheriting the part from Ray Liotta) in Robert Markowitz's crime feature The Big Heist (2001). In 2007, Sandow signed for a part under the aegis of director Griffin Dunne, opposite Uma Thurman and Colin Firth, in the romantic comedy The Accidental Husband.
