Tyga is an American rapper. He was born Micheal Ray Stevenson on November 19, 1989 in Campton, California. He was raised by his mother, Pasionaye Nguyen. Tyga attended Gardena High School in Harbor Gateway, Los Angeles. He started his music career recording and posting songs and mixtapes online. He was inspired by artists like Eminem, Cam’ron and Fabolous.

CAREER
Early in his career, Tyga performed with Travie McCoy and his band, Gym Class Heroes. His debut studio album, No Introduction, was released in 2008 by Decaydance Records. It featured the singles “Diamond Life”, “Coconut Juice”, and “AIM”. Tyga collaborated with Chris Brown on the 2010 mixtape, Fan of a Fan. The single “Deuces” peaked at #14 on the Billboard Hot 100 and #30 on the Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Songs chart. He was later featured on Birdman‘s 2010 single “Loyalty”.

Tyga signed with Lil Wayne‘s Young Money Entertainment in 2011. His second album, Careless World: Rise of the Last King, was released in early 2012 and peaked at #4 on the Billboard 200. It spawned the singles “Far Awar” with Chris Richardson, “Still Got It” with Drake, and “Rack City”. Other albums include Hotel California (2013), and The Gold Album: 18th Dynasty (2015). Tyga’s reality series, Kingin’ with Tyga, which depicts his music career and luxurious lifestyle premiered in 2015. The show ran for one season on MTV2. His film credits include Dope (2015), Barbershop: The Next Cut (2016), and Going Under (2016).

Tyga is 5ft 7in tall and is of Jamaican and Vietnamese descent. His net worth is estimated at $2 million. Tyga dated model Blac Chyna from 2011 to 2014 and they had a son, King Cairo Stevenson. He began a relationship with reality star ‘Kylie Jenner‘ in 2014. The two reportedly split in May 2016.
